KCCWG Profile

The Kenya Climate Change Working Group (KCCWG) is a forum that brings together Civil Society Organisations, non state actors and donor partners working on issues relating to Climate Change.

The purpose is to create synergies, harmonise and strengthen efforts in the design and implementation of activities that address climate change.  We also lobby and advocate for the development of favorable climate change related policies and promotion of climate change justice for all.

Our mission is to free people from the vulnerabilities occasioned by climate change and to empower them to adapt and to thrive in their livelihood within the changing climate. Our vision is to participate and lead in the development and implementation of climate change sensitive policies, projects and activities within and without our Kenyan borders. One of our main objectives is to advocate for positive national policies on climate change. We take pride as a country in being

one of the forerunners in Africa to actively put effort towards having a Climate Change legislation. We are persuaded that this process will come to fruition  because of the commitment and dedication that has been poured into this process and because it is an idea whose time has come.
